About the Florida State Day
Our Mission to “celebrate and promote Florida, USA, by uniting all Floridians and Visitors in the celebration of its state day, especially inspiring young and future generations to observe the same as a patriotic occasion” as a partner of VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, and additional authorities and organizations.
The celebrations are launching annually on the Saturday directly after Easter Sunday, since that is how Florida got its name, and are being inaugurated on occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America in 2026. The Celebrations are based on the original ones from Spain, but being adapted for Florida, USA, and honor the Spanish, Indigenous, African and Floridian heritages.
We invite all Floridians and its visitors everywhere to wear the main colors of the Florida flag (white and/or red), enjoy the related heritage foods and beverages, and get together to celebrate this great land of Florida!
