🌿 About the Workshop
This lively one-day workshop invites you to explore Australian native flowers through a process-led approach to abstraction.
You’ll begin with blind drawing and mark-making exercises designed to loosen control and encourage spontaneity. These expressive beginnings will evolve into layered mixed media works using acrylic inks, calligraphy ink, expressive line, and soft pastel.
Across a series of short, energetic projects, you’ll explore:
✨Line, movement, and rhythm
✨Colour, contrast, and layering
✨Fluid, intuitive mark-making
✨The transformation of observation into abstraction
By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a collection of vibrant artworks and a fresh, more playful approach to your practice.
🌱 Suitability
Suitable for beginners and those wanting to expand their practice with soft pastel and mixed media.
🌿 Materials
Please bring your own materials (required to participate)
Paper will be supplied by the tutor (approx. $20, payable on the day)
