Floral Design with Patty Buono (EMG Volunteer) – Create a Mother's Day Centerpiece Wednesday, April 29 | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM Location: NHC Arboretum Education Center
Celebrate Mother's Day with a fresh, handmade floral centerpiece! Join Patty Buono, EMG Volunteer, for a fun and hands-on floral design workshop where you'll learn simple techniques for arranging flowers into a beautiful low-profile centerpiece to enjoy at home or gift to someone special.
What to bring:
- Container: A low-profile container for your arrangement
- Mass flowers (approximately 12): carnations, mums, marigolds, or daisies
- Line flowers (approximately 6, optional): snapdragons, lupines, or liatris — these can be used in combination with mass flowers
- Filler flowers: Baby's breath, violets, or any small garden flowers that hold their shape after picking
- Greenery: Ferns (including asparagus fern), eucalyptus, boxwood, cryptomeria, or other evergreen foliage — bring enough to cover the rim of the container and fill in; a mix of varieties works great
- Scissors for cutting stems
Tip: Trader Joe's and other grocery stores have great options! Make sure fresh flowers are well hydrated before the workshop.
Provided: Floral foam and floral tape.
