Flood mapping: community drop-in session: Aotea, Whitby, Mana & Pukerua Bay

Responsible natural hazard planning by council includes helping communities manage the risk from hazards such as flooding – now and into the future.

Wellington Water, on behalf of Porirua City Council, has updated the flood hazard maps to show the impacts of flooding in Aotea, Whitby, Mana and Pukerua Bay. The flood hazard modelling has now been updated, incorporating the feedback we received last year.

These flood hazard maps will eventually become part of Porirua City Council’s District Plan.

We are running four community drop-in sessions in March. See the maps in person and chat with our experts and see if they match your experience. You don’t need to book in to attend, simply turn up to any of these sessions.
