About this Event

FLIGHT: Healing Through Art — Community Workshop & Exhibit

Presented by:
Filipino-Canadian Friends of Libraries (FCFL) in partnership with Samper-Caicedo Legacy Society

Join us for FLIGHT, a heartfelt community art workshop and exhibit led by award-winning Filipino-Canadian artist Chito Maravilla (http://www.chitomaravilla.com/).

Together, we will paint, reflect, and rise — transforming emotion into creative expression and collective healing.

About the Event

Art has a powerful way of holding our stories. This workshop invites participants to explore healing through color, texture, and shared creativity, culminating in a collaborative healing tapestry that symbolizes strength, unity, and hope.

This gathering pays tribute to the victims of the April 26, 2025 Lapu-Lapu Festival tragedy, and honors the resilient community, volunteers, and artists who continue to uplift one another in its aftermath.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or simply curious about art as healing, all are welcome. No experience required — just an open heart.
