Flickerfest, Australia’s largest Short Film Festival is excited to be returning on its National Tour to the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs for two spectacular nights, on Friday 8th & Saturday 9th May, showcasing the Best of Australian Shorts and Short Laughs Comedy programme highlights, all handpicked from our recent Bondi festival competitions.
The short films screening are entertaining, inspiring, award-winning, and fresh from their premieres in competition at Flickerfest Bondi, giving Alice Springs Flickerfest audiences a window into the hottest contemporary shorts from at home and across the world today.
Saturday 9th May 7pm, Short Laughs Comedy delivers big laughs with a riotous collection of off-kilter Flickerfest shorts from Australia and around the world.
Don’t miss Carcassonne-Acapulco, where a chance encounter at 30,000 feet sparks a surprisingly profound and funny existential debate whilst hurtling through the sky; Baby Blues, a sharply observed comedy that hilariously captures the anxieties, paranoia and emotional free-fall of new parenthood; Laterz winner of Best Comedy Short at Flickerfest 2026, which will take you on a wild and hilarious ride with 3 misguided rappers; the delightful french comedy Bowl Cut where a summer haircut gone awry prompts seven year old Suzie to take matters into her own hands as family tensions rise; Odd Socks stars Sandi Toksvig, (QI, The Great British Bake Off) in a riotous comedy that follows a maverick detective investigating a sock-monster murder in a world where humans and sock-monsters coexist and much more!
