Flax has come to The Craft School! Come learn the history and the significance of this important crop from Patty William from Aker Fiber Farm through this interactive lecture.
Flax has been used since ancient times and is still seen on the catwalk of fashion houses today. This lecture will take us on a tour of the flax and linen cloth usage timeline from ancient Egypt to Europe in the 1500s, Colonial America in the 1700s, New Hampshire in the 1800s to the linen industry today.
