Join us in Chicago for a playful, hands-on sensory workshop designed to help you explore flavors like never before. This event is perfect for food and beverage enthusiasts, home baristas, and curious eaters in the Windy City looking to sharpen their tasting skills and deepen their understanding of flavor.
Train your senses: smell and taste
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to isolate your sense of smell (olfaction) and taste (gustation) to better understand how it all works together. While we will be tasting some coffees, this experience goes far beyond coffee—it’s designed to help you identify aromas, detect flavor patterns, and explore your personal preferences, predispositions, and sensitivities across all foods and drinks.
Hands-on flavor adventures
Through guided exercises, interactive tastings, and playful experiments, you’ll practice your sensory skills in a fun, supportive environment. Learn to notice subtle notes, recognize flavor combinations, and refine your palate so that every bite—and sip—becomes more exciting.

Who are we and why should you join us?
Sip Society is Chicago’s hands-on coffee education community. We host skill-focused workshops, tastings, and training sessions for baristas, café teams, and dedicated home brewers who want to deepen their understanding of coffee through practice. We have over twenty years of experience, from opening cafes to now running Chicago's first and only coffee playground.
