Savor a weekend of world class, no-repeat storytelling June 5th and 6th with some of the country's best story tellers at the 2026 Flatwater Tales Storytelling Festival in Oak Ridge, TN.
Please support the Flatwater Tales! A weekend Pass will give purchasers access to all seven shows plus the American Museum of Science and Energy, Oak Ridge History Museum, a chance to ring the Peace Bell and explore the Oak Ridge Art Center.
The first six performances Friday through Saturday will be at the Oak Ridge Conference Center within walking distance to food and shopping. Saturday's final performance at 7pm will be hosted at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. Celebrating Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness will feature all four story tellers: Sheila Arnold, Elizabeth Ellis, Josh Goforth, & Bil Lepp! Included in this special, one time event will be featured performances by the Oak Ridge Chorus. It's an evening you will not want to miss!

Friday
10:00 - 10:35 a.m. Elizabeth Ellis Taste of the Tales. Elizabeth tells poignant stories that find the heart and the funny bone.
3:00 - 3:35 p.m. Bil Lepp Taste of the Tales. Come hear hilarious stories of Bil and his friend Skeeter in this preview show.
7:00 p.m. Josh Goforth Home in Carolina story and foot stomping Appalachian music, Joined by Bil and Elizabeth.
Saturday
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Join Oak Ridge Historian Ray Smith at the Friendship Bell for a free FREE Historic Tour!
11:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. Sheila Arnold brings Old Bess a historical character from 1776 back to life to talk about freedom.
1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Homegrown Tellers Contest hosted by Bil, Local tellers spin their best yarns, Help pick the winner.
3:00 p.m. Featuring Bil Lepp and his hilarious stories from West Virginia, Joined by Elizabeth, Josh, and Sheila.
7:00 p.m. Come celebrate America's 250 Birthday, with story and song with the ORCMA Chorus and Tellers.
