The library is thrilled to have author Deborah Tainsh return to facilitate her “Flash Writing Your Memoir” class here at the Pass Christian Library. The Fall series will begin at 2pm on Tuesday, October 7th and continue weekly through Tuesday, November 18th. Please note there will be no class on Tuesday, November 11th since the library will be closed to observe Veteran’s Day. The purpose of the workshop is to inspire and assist those attending the class to write stories for family posterity through flash, micro and creative nonfiction writing to tell true life or fictional stories. Ideally, participants will attend as many sessions as possible, but perfect attendance is not required.
Deborah Tainsh is the author of the novel Love’s Return; the memoir Heart of a Hawk: One Family’s Sacrifice and Journey Toward Healing; and essays published the Chicken Soup for the Soul publications and Folded Flag: Families of War Share Stories of Coping, Courage and Faith. Ms.Tainsh has facilitated numerous creative and memoir writing workshops for libraries and Barnes and Noble stores in Georgia and Florida.
Everyone who is interested in writing is welcome to attend. Please bring your laptop or pen and paper. If there is something you’re working on, bring that as well if you’d like.
