What if everyone in Pass Christian read the same book and then joined together to talk about it? That is the idea behind One Book, One Pass! Our 2025 selection is "South To America: A Journey Below the Mason-Dixon To Understand the Soul of a Nation". The community is encouraged to read the book and engage in book discussions and special programs that will culminate in the Author Presentation by Imani Perry. As part of the community read project, Jamion Burney and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will host an unforgettable ecumenical evening inspired by Dr. Perry’s book "May We Forever Stand: A History of the Black National Anthem". This immersive program will blend music, spoken word, dance and storytelling to explore the legacy of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" and its enduring power as a hymn of Black liberation, hope and unity. This program will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at 6846 Kiln Delisle Road in DeLisle on Friday, October 10th beginning at 6pm.This event is free and open to everyone! Please join us!
