Join Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society (FGOS) on February 9 as Mark Margolis shares the unique beauty and surprises of Catasetum orchids. A non-commercial orchid grower with 35 years experience and a collection of over 1,000 orchid plants, Mark is a retired Miami-Dade County Public Schools teacher who dedicates his time to growing his favorite Catasetum orchids. Since September 2024, Mark has earned more than 150 awards from the American Orchid Society. A dedicated hobbyist and hybridizer, he will also bring divisions of many of his plants for sale. Doors open at 6:45pm, presentation starts at 7:30pm.
FGOS meets on the second Monday of every month here at Flamingo Gardens in the Mary N. Porter Learning Center. Enthusiasts of all levels are welcome! Monthly speaker presentations, plant raffles, access to online orchid resources, and more are included in your membership.
The lecture is free. Membership in FGOS is $35 annually.
