Palmer Crippen is the lead horticulturist at Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County and the owner of Other Plants, a small nursery specializing in uncommon plant species and non-orchid epiphytes.
Whether it be Mistletoe Cactus, Christmas Cactus, Easter Cactus, or Dancing Bones, most plant enthusiasts are familiar with members of the cactus family tribe Rhipsalideae. However, many are unaware of the broad diversity and unique botanical features of this group due to persistent misidentification and rarity of some species in the trade. This presentation will be a deep dive into the world of jungle cacti with a spotlight on the latest discoveries and hybridization efforts.
