Join us for an evening where the flaggers (and all flow artists!) will take over the stage and dance floor - Thursday, July 23th - for Flag Alley 8, as part of Flagger Destination Weekend 2026!A large part of the tradition of flagging is the experience of dancing in the club under blacklights, yet so often, the flaggers and other flow artists get little or no space to celebrate their art.
Flag Alley was founded by Jeff Hettinger in response: an event where flaggers have the stage and dance floor. It is an event that offers the experience of flagging together under blacklight to the music we love, and has evolved to include a flagging lesson and a community showcase.
DJ Gregg Sueyoshi - an alumnus of Flagging In The Park, and from last year's Flag Alley - will be our DJ! Gregg got great reviews from last year's event, and really understands the flagger vibe, so we are delighted to be welcoming him back!
Chad Eckman will be our instructor for the first hour of the event. His amazing flagging is widely admired, so we are sure that this is a lesson you will not want to miss! Details to come!
Immediately after Chad's lesson, we will turn off the overhead lights, bring up the blacklights, and our DJ will start spinning for over 3 hours of flagging!
Wear whatever will get you in the spirit of the evening - leather, burner outfits, tie-dye, or flagger-wear are encouraged.

Our DJ:
Gregg’s love for music started early while growing up in Honolulu, where he was always the one sharing new tracks with friends. In 1989, he made the move to the Bay Area and quickly immersed himself in San Francisco’s club and music scene of the early ’90s. Over the years, that subculture and community helped shape his sound and deep connection to music.
His sets blend everything from Classic House and Club Vocals to Disco Classics, Nu-Disco, Dance-Oriented Rock (D.O.R.), and Progressive House. Gregg has DJ’d for various events over the years with Flagging In the Park and Flag Alley being at top of the list. He also has played at Beaux (High Tea), The Lookout, and Bearrison Street Fair.
