About this Event
The celebration continues at the Black Box with a second installment of global LGBTQIA+ stories from Five Films for Freedom and BFI Flare. After viewing a series of moving and provocative short films, there will be time for discussion and feedback. This session is designed to be interactive, moving beyond the screen to discuss how the themes of these films resonate within our own local communities. We invite you to continue the conversation around the challenges and triumphs of LGBTQIA+ people in our communities and beyond.
Come for the films, stay for the conversation, and be part of a vibrant evening of digital storytelling and spirited discussion in an intimate, welcoming setting.
Looking for a deeper dive? Don’t miss Part 1 at the QFT on 25 March, featuring expert panel analysis of the global LGBTQIA+ cinematic landscape.
We are delighted to present a screening and panel discussion of LGBTQIA+ themed films from British Council’s Five Films for Freedom and BFI Flare, London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival.
British Council’s Five Films for Freedom is the world's widest-reaching digital celebration of LGBTQIA+ themed film. BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. It is the biggest LGBTQIA+ film festival in Europe and takes place every year in the British Film Institute Southbank, London.
