FIU is launching an esports summer camp, Panther Play Academy!
Through gaming and academics, campers will have the opportunity to explore the impact of technology on society, participate in problem-solving activities, and experience a preview of life in a collegiate esports program. Campers will be able to experience all of this at FIU’s new Alienware Esports Lounge.
The FIU Esports Camp is a unique program that combines gaming with essential life skills, empowering campers to succeed in the competitive esports industry and beyond. Our comprehensive curriculum includes expert-led gaming sessions, career advice, leadership development, and skills in coping and managing stress in gaming. Campers will develop valuable skills and build a foundation for their future careers!
Objectives of the Esports Camp:
Develop gaming skills and strategies:
Participants will learn about advanced gaming techniques, team dynamics, and strategies to improve their gameplay and competitiveness
Explore career paths in esports:
Participants will gain insight into various career opportunities in the esports industry, including professional gaming, team management, production, and marketing.
Build Leadership and Teamwork Skills:
Through interactive workshops and team based activities, participants will develop essential leadership and teamwork skills, including communication, problem solving and collaboration.
Prioritize Mental Health and Well Being:
Our program will provide participants with tools and resources to manage stress, build resilience, and maintain a healthy student-gamer life balance, ensuring they can perform at their best in the high pressure world of esports.
- Cost: $100 for each camper ($105.74 after Eventbrite fees). This will include 1 meal and Panther Play Academy Lanyard
- Note: There will be a $25 fee added for late pick up.
