About this Event
Join us for an extraordinary evening of choral excellence as the FIU Choirs welcome the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami for a combined performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, under the direction of Misty Bermudez. This work will be accompanied by Timothy Brumfield at the organ and feature soloists Anjane Giwarr and David Lee. Renowned for its serene and consoling beauty, Fauré’s Requiem is a timeless masterpiece that explores themes of peace, rest, and eternal light, offering a deeply moving and reflective experience.
In addition to the Requiem, the evening will feature the FIU University Singers, directed by Dr. Alicia Romero-Sardiñas, performing Alice Parker's stirring arrangement of “Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal” and “Salve Regina (II)” by Cuban composer Esteban Salas. The FIU Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Erynn Millard, will captivate audiences with André Thomas’ “Rockin’ Jerusalem" and the poignant "And God Shall Wipe Away All Tears" from Eleanor Daley's Requiem. The Civic Chorale of Greater Miami will also perform “Cantique de Racine,” another breathtaking piece by Gabriel Fauré. Each piece has been thoughtfully selected to complement the overarching themes of reflection and solace, ensuring a rich and immersive musical journey.
Join us for a night of profound musical beauty and community collaboration. Let the voices of the FIU Choirs and the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami uplift and inspire you!
