We will be supporting Salisbury City Park's team and local residents on a maintenance session at the Fisherton Meadows rewildling site. NB there will be no parking on or beyond Kensington Rd so please walk in!
Mark will have some more native wild flower seeds to plant out in deturfed patches across the sites, to hopefully then spread out amongst the long established grasses. A few donated pot grown 'tree' seedlings will also need planting out. Additional tasks include, like at Lime Kiln, containing the brambles to their banks by cutting back runnners and digging out any that have treminal roots, cuttijng back some of the now dead annuals around the pond which may need topping up, etc.
We will meet up at the pedestrian gateway into the north most meadow at What3Words: shadow.sudden.craft which is about 160m along the track from the North end of Kensington Rd.
Please wear suitable boots for digging and if you have some bring gardening gloves, seceteurs, sharp spades and forks (For deturfing). The forecast is clear dry and COLD at about 5degC.
Please join the session at https://volunteering.wiltshirewildlife.org/volunteers/opportunity/10193770 and if first time volunteering on SCC land please also sign uo as a volunteer with the council at https://salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk/our-city/open-spaces/get-involved/
