THIS IS THE ONE EVENT WHERE WE NEED YOUR SUPPORTCalifornia Fish and Game Commission Committee of the Whole meeting in Half Moon Bay to decide the fate of our petition to restore kelp all around the Monterey Peninsula.
Petition 2023-23MPA is the largest of the 15 petitions and will be discussed at this "Committee of the whole" on Tuesday April 21 along with six others. We still don't know exactly where it will be but we expect opposition from fishers and we need a big turn out to counter for-profit opponents. You can write a letter, speak on Zoom, or better yet show up and show your support for a healthy ocean.
Urchin culling in Marine Protected Areas is our big ask and we need support from the diving community.

4) Pruning kelp canopy to improve kelp growth and reduce damage from winter storms.
5) Artificial Reefs.
6) Buoys to help guide restoration
