It's your favorite time of year! The windows start to open, the crocuses emerge, and we all panic about filing our taxes. Fear not, dear artist; we have a bookkeeper among us. KATHLEEN VAN LIEU is a familiar face at First Tuesdays and an Omaha painter. For years, she made her living as a bookkeeper in Massachusetts. She is going to help us get organized and keep track of money things. We will talk about deductions and 1099s, Schedule Cs and Form 1040. The idea is demystifying some things that can be intimidating. She will even show the kinds of office supplies she recommends to keep things in order throughout the year.
FIRST TUESDAYS at Todd's is a free monthly event series at 6:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, at LONG GRAIN FURNITURE, which is the studio of artist Todd McCollister. Each event is different; past events have seen guest speakers, panel discussions, round-table discussions, or no format at all. The main idea is to share our experiences and grow a stronger artist community, so before and after the more formal part, we'll have some time for mixing and mingling. All events are FREE and OPEN to the public. Please share with anyone you think might be interested.
I'm LOCATED inside a campus that used to be a US Army supply depot. My address is 2230 Quartermaster Ct., 68108. Find your way to the corner of 21st St. and Woolworth Ave. Enter the campus through the white gate. Make your way across the campus to the farthest building. On the way, you'll pass through a gap in a chain link fence and a large parking lot with some trailers, buses, and limousines. Look for my boxy little white van and a red dumpster. If the weather is nice, my garage doors might be open.
