About this Event
Each first Thursday, right throughout the year, we will meet 10am - 2pm to look after our community allotment, maintain exisitng and plant new trees, build and maintain footpaths through the woodland, look after our rescued animals, and enjoy woodland wellbeing and art therapy as a much deserved reward for our labours. Combining the skills of Claire Coulton & Gill Taylor these sessions will deliver a varied programme of activity following the seasons and linking us all into nature for our wellbeing. They are open to students, business employees, community groups and individuals there is a maximum number of 24 free tickets per Thursday, so book in quick!!! You'll just need a packed lunch, tools and kit and Barista coffees a la @Baabucks will be provided.
Gill & Claire are ready to welcome you - Gill (top)is our Project Director, her professional background is youth work and she has been running tree planting and woodland management here for the past 9 years. Gill recently qualified in Forest Therapy which sprang out of a deep love and connection to the woodland, she will be delighted to pass on some nature connection skills to you and give space during sessions for relaxation woodland side. Claire (bottom) has a professional background in teaching, has green fingers and has got the allotment up and running over the past 4 years. Having a passion for building community she is keen to continue to develop this volunteer community, but, wait for it, has skills in creative writing and art, both of which she brings to the table as pathways for nature connection & wellbeing.
