ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
First Saturdays at Keystone is Kansas City’s monthly creative hub — a consistent, community-centered space where artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, youth, and culture lovers gather to connect and grow.
Hosted by the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation, this series bridges the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District and the Crossroads Arts District, activating Keystone as a shared space for art, commerce, and collaboration.
This isn’t just a pop-up event.
It’s a monthly ecosystem built to support creativity year-round.
Whether you’re an artist building your brand, a vendor growing your business, a student exploring your talent, or a supporter of local culture — this space is for you.
🎯 OUR PURPOSE
First Saturdays at Keystone exists to create sustainable opportunity for artists beyond a single annual festival weekend.
This series serves as the public-facing activation of our upcoming Artist Resource Center (ARC) — an initiative designed to provide:
• Artist development
• Creative entrepreneurship education
• Cultural storytelling platforms
• Access to funding, partnerships, and opportunities
• Youth creative pipeline development
Our mission is simple:
Create consistent space, income opportunities, visibility, and professional growth for Kansas City creatives — every month.

Brush Wars – Live Art Battle
Five artists compete live, creating original work within a timed challenge.
• 90-minute battle
• Paint & canvas provided
• Artists may bring additional materials
• Judges + crowd energy help determine winner
Where creativity goes head-to-head.
🎧 Evening Close-Out
High-energy DJ set to keep the vibe strong through the final hour.
🛍 THE MARKETPLACE
Each First Saturday features:
• 5 Featured Visual Artists (gallery-style exhibit)
• 10 Local Vendors & Small Businesses
• 2 Food Trucks
• Full Bar Available
Artists may display work beyond the event, creating extended exposure opportunities.
This is a curated, community-focused marketplace — not just tables in a room.
