Every First Saturday from 2-6PM
Join us at Jane’s Art Center for an unforgettable Raku firing with guest potter Jon Salazar. This high-energy, hands-on workshop introduces you to the exciting Raku process, where glowing red-hot pottery is removed from the kiln and placed into combustible materials to create bold, unpredictable surface effects.
Participants will learn a brief history of Raku, apply in-house glazes, and take part in the firing and reduction process. Finished pieces will be ready to take home the same day.
What to bring:
Up to 5 bisque-fired pieces (B-mix with grog or Raku clay recommended)
Ideal size: under 6 inches
Safety:
Long pants, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes are required. Expect heat, smoke, and open flames.
