About this Event

Empowering First Nations Police Governance; a way forward together, opportunities through challenges”

Our First Nations communities require First Nations Governance and services to be safe, secure, and successful. First Nations Police governance is crucial to community wellness and can have transformative impact on communities. First Nations governance and worldviews are distinct and unique; our systems are designed to provide benefit to the collective while ensuring we comprehend natural law and the shared responsibility to our lands and resources. The Treaties are essential to Nation building, which demand a strong and sufficient public safety system for First Nations. We continue to face systemic barriers that make First Nations' challenges unique. Despite limited capacity, we continue to collaborate on new solutions to complicated situations. Police governance is crucial if we want to support our Police forces while being transparent and accountable to our communities and leadership.

First Nations Police Governance Council 2026 will build on 2025's work. We'll discuss triumphs, innovation, opportunities, and how to go forward during this year's event.

Conference 2026 will hold up to 200 people at the Grey Eagle Hotel on the Tsuut'ina Nation in February. Fee $200 per person. There will be a networking Dinner provided on February 18th please indicate if you plan of attending the Dinner.
