First Generation Day Celebration

Wednesday, 11/10, First Generation Student Celebration Luncheon:

@Truax - D1630, also streamed at GSC - Room 112 and Online (bit.ly/1gen-natday21-live) from 12pm to 1:30pm.

Please join us for the 5th annual First-Generation Student Celebration which will include:

• Alumni keynote speaker, Gabriela Zumwalt, she will share her journey from First-Gen Student to First-Gen Professional
• Induction & pinning ceremony for the national Tri Alpha First-Generation Honors Society
• Luncheon: First-Gen Fellowship and Food

This year's focus will be on the First-Generation journey from student to professional.

To help you to maximize your networking skills, the "I’m First Club" and Career Employment Services (CES) are hosting the following additional events:

Wednesday 11/10, Mocktail & Networking Hour

@ Intercultural Exchange from 5pm-6pm

Students put your networking skills to the test! enjoy "mocktails" and network with other First -Generation staff, faculty, students, professional, etc.

Monday 11/8, Networking Etiquette Workshop by CES

@ Intercultural Exchange from 11am-12pm

This interactive workshop will provide practical tips you can use right away to make and maintain professional and social connections. The workshop will be led by Madison College Career Employment Services (CES).

Monday 11/5 and 11/8, Career Closet

@ Intercultural Exchange from 11am-2pm

This is a great opportunity to start or expand your professional wardrobe. Shop (for free) at any one of our Career Closet sessions for some items and enjoy consultations with your I’m First Gen Club Advisors and RISE staff. You’ll also have the chance to have a free professional headshot photo taken.
