🌿 A Walk Through Gardens, Art & Living HistoryExplore Planting Fields through a guided tour that connects the estate’s historic landscape with contemporary art.
Led by Exhibitions & Collections Manager Emily Leger this experience moves through the gardens, greenhouses, and exhibition spaces, highlighting the many layers of history embedded in the site.
The tour centers on the 2025 Catalyst installation, The Planting Fields Stand by artist Sam Van Aken—a grove of four remarkable multi-grafted fruit trees that blend art, horticulture, and storytelling. Along the way, learn about the agricultural and horticultural history of Planting Fields, from Indigenous stewardship to the present day.
Inside the Main House, visitors will encounter Van Aken’s artworks and reflect on themes of biodiversity, memory, and imagination in a changing world.
Blending gardens, history, and contemporary art, this thoughtful tour invites you to experience Planting Fields in a new way.
