On May 3rd, join the Harrison Center and Indianapolis Motor Speedway for First Friday and our annual Porch Party Indy Kick-Off. Also featured will be Open Studio Night, Indy Flow Jam, a DJ and mocktail bar sponsored by Red Bull, Suspended Animation Aerials, a race flag pennant-making class, food trucks, and music by El Sistem and members of Coro Latinoamericano. Pick up your free porch party decor and yard signs while they last.

Enjoy these openings:
- In the Harrison Gallery, Full Throttle by Justin Vining. This distinctly Hoosier collection of oil and gouache paintings is inspired by the INDY 500 and Indiana’s varying landscape. The exhibition features impressionistic depictions of the sunrise over the Pagoda at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the quiet streets around the speedway on the morning of the race. Vining also captures the beauty of other areas in Indiana, such as Irvington and Brown County, throughout the seasons.
- In the Gallery Annex, Changing Faces by FingerCreations. A series of portraits and abstract artwork capturing the essence of renowned musicians, athletes, and activists and boasting an array of vibrant colors, intricate shapes, and mesmerizing patterns.
- In the City Gallery, Porch Party Indy, a group exhibit. This new collection celebrates the ubiquitous porch party, emphasizing community, hospitality, and life's simple pleasures. Bringing together an eclectic mix of artists from various backgrounds and mediums, this exhibition showcases a range of perspectives on the quintessential pastime of gathering on the porch to relax and socialize.
- In the Speck Gallery, May We All by JD Bills. The artist’s signature graphic, bold style highlights the unique attitudes and places of Indianapolis in this collection of acrylic paintings and mixed media.
- In the Underground Gallery, Nothing New Under the Sun by Religion, Spirituality, and the Arts (RSA), a program of IUPUI’s Arts and Humanities Institute. Ecclesiastes, the Bible's darkest and most cynical book, addresses life’s unsettling paradoxes and questions, unfairness, insecurities, and unknowns beyond our control. Twelve artists, who have wrestled for seven months with this difficult biblical book under the auspices of Indiana's Religion, Spirituality, and the Arts program, now exhibit their responses and invite you to join the conversation.

All shows will open at 6 pm on Friday, May 3rd.
In-person gallery tours will open for visitors Monday-Friday from 9 am - 5 pm. Online galleries will open on May 4th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.
Special Senior Hours are every Friday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed.
