Little Fox Coffee and Books has organized an incredible artist's event for First Friday! This month, we are featuring the art of Ryder Stephens!Ryder is a mixed media artist and Hekatean witch from New Jersey. Her work weaves together art and ritual and is born out of intensity or passion. Using acrylic and oil paint, knives, texturizing compound, and ethically sourced organic materials, Ryder transforms both canvas and upcycled “trash” into bold, grungy wards. Each piece is created in rhythm with the lunar cycle. They are imbued with a defensive magic designed to protect its owner, absorb negativity, and offer empowerment. With a style that is abstract, edgy, and unapologetically witchy, Ryder’s work invites viewers to feel safe, powerful, and seen, while reminding them that beauty and strength can be born from the discarded and the sacred alike.
