Join us for a unique and spirited afternoon of music! In 1965, Big Band pioneer Duke Ellington was commissioned to write a service of sacred music, complete with choir, soloists, and—of course—a full big band. Inspired by scripture and treated in a style indicative of Ellington’s genius, this music is a powerful reflection of his legacy.
We are thrilled to present selections from Ellington’s Sacred Concerts, featuring local jazz pianist Barry Brake & The Jazz Protagonists, along with Baylor University’s VirtuOSO choir led by Reginald Wright.
There is no admission fee, and all are welcome to attend this unique community event.
