Lucky Peak State Park will be participating as a host for First Day Hikes on Thursday, January 1, 2025. Come enjoy a fun family event, meandering along the greenbelt at Sandy Point Unit of Lucky Peak State Park. We will have a ranger-led, guided nature walk pertaining to wildlife, plants, the solar system, and more! The meeting point will be at the Sandy Point park office, see below for start times:
*Sandy Point park office is the green building located at the base of the Lucky Peak Dam, under the letter “N” in "Keep Your Forests Green".
Hike 1 - 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM
Hike 2 - 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM
Hike 3 - 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM
Hike 4 - 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM
Experience Idaho Loaner Backpacks that include binoculars will also be available to use while you are out hiking. Hot chocolate and cider will also be available at the park office for only $1 (cash only), so bring a thermos if you have one!
