About this Event
Members of the Government Canyon Activities Committee welcome anyone interested in our feathered friends for a birding outing. Bring your own equipment or let us know if we can loan you a pair of binoculars when you make your reservation.
Who is Invited: Open to ages 12 and older; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Reservations required! Sorry, no group registrations; no pets please.

Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Hiking group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations.
Registration opens on Saturday, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free, to the Natural Area apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a . SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation.

When & Where to Meet: Arrive no later than 7:45AM. Volunteers will meet you at the rainwater harvesting tower next to the Visitor Center.
The Natural Area can be very busy! The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 8:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring: Dress for the weather and be prepared for sunny conditions. Bring at least one liter of water and a snack if you like. BYO binoculars or let us know when you register if you’d like to borrow a pair.
