Welcome to the First Aid Training for Cycle Ride Leaders event! Are you a cycling enthusiast who wants to ensure the safety of your fellow riders? Join us on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at The Bridie Library, Glasgow University Union, for a hands-on first aid training session specifically designed for cycle ride leaders. Learn essential skills and techniques to handle emergencies and accidents while out on the road. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and confidence in providing first aid during cycling adventures. Participants will be awarded an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (valid for 3 years). Sign up now and ride with peace of mind!
The Module will include:
- Minor cuts, grazes, splinters, and burns
- Choking
- Shock
- Wounds and bleeding
- Diabetes and asthma
- Fractures
- Strokes
- Anaphylactic shock
- Heart attacks and angina
- Unconscious participants
- AED (external defibrillator)
- Bruises, sprains, strains
- Scalds
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
The course will also educate cycle ride leaders on how to handle cycle-related situations.
