On Friday, July 3, Marion will host its 6th annual Fireworks & Fireflies celebration. This free event will take place at the Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park, 4500 N. 10th Street, beginning at 6 p.m.Enjoy live music by Well Lit starting at 7 p.m. Food trucks, face painting and a grand fireworks finale will round out the event.
Organizers are pleased to welcome the Marion Chamber of Commerce, Klingler Paint, Mediacom and the City of Marion as Red-level sponsors.
A secondary performance stage featuring School of Rock, the Barnyard Discoveries petting zoo and an expanded Family Fun Zone hosted by AirFX will be located near Irish Drive, on the west side of the park.
Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Coolers are permitted. Patrons are asked to leave pets, sparklers, fireworks and pop-up tents at home.
Free shuttles to Lowe Park from the Linn-Mar High School parking lot will be available starting at 6 p.m. Additional details, including a FAQ list and printable parking map, will be posted online as the event nears at www.cityofmarion.org/fireworks.
