About this Event
What does it look like to share decision-making power within an organization? How can you cultivate a workplace culture that prioritizes care, especially through conflict? Drawing on two decades of experience in community organizing and nonprofit leadership, Niloufar Khonsari, Author of The Future Is Collective, guides us in transforming our workplaces by decentralizing power; implementing collective governance structures; and centering principles of transparency, equity, and mutual care.
Join the CRB for a fireside chat with Khonsari on February 10, 2026 to hear her experience co-founding Pangea Legal Services, a Bay Area immigrant justice organization, and how this horizontally structured team navigates challenging workplace dynamics, everyday conflicts, and job terminations using a compassionate justice-centered approach. Her book serves as a guide for nonprofit workers, activists, and community and business leaders to develop a workplace culture of care that truly models the relational systems we want to see in the world. This event is open the the UC Berkeley community.
