Join us at beautiful Ingrid Graham Historic Hellam Nature Preserve as we observe nature's light show. We'll learn about fireflies' life cycle, how to identify species by their light pattern, and the science behind their illuminated butts. We'll also learn about the threats to fireflies and what steps you can take to ensure their survival.
What to Expect and How to Prepare: This event is open to ages 10 and up (anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult). This event will include a short, easy hike. There are restrooms available on site.
Please Note: The preserve remains closed to general visitation while the Conservancy develops a management plan for the preserve, although it is open for select education events.
Where to Meet: Follow the long gravel drive, veering to the right at the barn. Parking is available in the gravel lot.

There are restroom on site. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Bring a headlamp if you have one available. Bring any snacks or drinks you may wish to have.
Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
