Fire-Ready Ward 5 with Manchester Fire Department! Recent fires across Manchester have displaced families and shaken our sense of safety. In response, Ward 5 is coming together for a community-focused meeting with Chief Ryan Cashin and members of the Manchester Fire Department to share practical guidance, answer questions, and strengthen neighborhood preparedness.
Fire-Ready Ward 5 is presented by Jason Bonilla, Ward 5 Alderman, the Ward 5 Community Council, and the City of Manchester, NH Fire Department. It is centered on community learning and information sharing. Fire Department staff will walk through common causes of residential fires and concrete steps residents can take to reduce risk; especially in neighborhoods with closely spaced homes. The discussion will cover everyday fire preparedness, safe use of heating and electrical systems, and what to do before, during, and after a fire.
The meeting will also address the importance of renters insurance, how it supports households after an emergency, and what local and city resources are available so residents have what they need to prevent fires and recover when incidents occur. Time will be reserved for questions, allowing neighbors to raise concerns, share experiences, and get clear answers directly from fire officials.
The goal is to come together as Ward 5, build shared awareness, and ensure residents leave with practical information they can use to help keep themselves and their neighbors safe.
