Monthly Fire Ceremony at the Gold Hill Kiva 🔥Every 7th of the Month • 6:30 PM
Gold Hill, Colorado
Join us each month at the Gold Hill Kiva for an evening of fire, reflection, drumming, song, silence, prayer, and community.
The Kiva was inspired by the work of Joseph Rael aka Beautiful Painted Arrow — visionary teacher, artist, ceremonial leader, and author Joseph Rael — whose lifelong work focused on peace through sound, intention, and gathering.
Beginning in the 1980s, Joseph inspired the building of kivas around the world as modern ceremonial spaces for listening, creativity, healing, and connection.
The Gold Hill Kiva was founded and built by Jeffrey Many Hats 👒 as part of that living tradition. He also built The Boulder Teahouse with an all Buddhist crew back years ago.
The Kiva is tucked (literally) into the mountains above Boulder near the historic town of Gold Hill, the Gold Hill Kiva has become a gathering place for musicians, mystics, artists, neighbors, seekers, travelers, and anyone longing for authentic human connection.
Over the years, the space has hosted:
• Fire ceremonies
• Drum circles
• Solstice gatherings
• Chanting circles
• Music under the stars
• Sacred silence / Meditation retreats
• Community prayer
• Storytelling and spontaneous magic
At its heart, the Kiva is simple:
A sacred sound chamber
A fire.
A circle.
People willing to be present.
Some nights are musical and celebratory.
Some are quiet and deeply reflective.
Some become joyful, hilarious, and unexpectedly profound.
There is no performance.
No dogma.
Just shared space, respect, and participation in whatever the evening becomes.
You are welcome to:
• Bring a drum or instrument
• Share a song or prayer
• Sit quietly by the fire
• Listen deeply
• Meet new friends
• Or simply enjoy the atmosphere
Many people describe the Kiva as a place where time slows down and something ancient — and deeply human — returns.
Long before screens and schedules, people gathered around fire to share stories, music, laughter, grief, prayer, and vision.
In many ways, we are still doing the same thing.
Please bring:
• A drum or instrument if desired
• A respectful and open spirit
The fire is lit at 6:30 PM on the 7th of every month. 🔥 JBG
