Step back in time for a weekend of fire and steel at Bamburgh Castle!Join award-winning blacksmith Alex Sowden of Hammer and Hound Forge as he leads his skilled forging team through an action-packed weekend of medieval blacksmithing. Watch sparks fly as they create everything from arrowheads to armour, billhooks to blades—right before your eyes.
Taking place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2026 in the West Ward, each day will feature different projects, so no two visits are the same. Be sure to keep an eye on social media to see what’s being forged and when!
