About this Event
“Hard times require furious dancing.” Alice Walker
The ADA project is almost finished!
It’s 90K more expensive than we thought!!!
Let’s have a dance party about it!
Sun Jun 21 * 6:30-9:30pm * Finn Hall Auditorium
We’re almost across the finish line to make the Finnish Hall ADA compliant and keep it open to the community. It’s taken over ten years since we started the project and we want to celebrate with everyone who’s made it possible to get this far.
We also still need to raise another unexpected $90,000... That’s after raising over $260,000 from so many generous community members (THANK YOU!) and through some large grants.
You can see what’s been completed so far and what we have left to do on the Gofundme.
Let's use joy as an emergent strategy and have a dance party while raising money at the same time. There’ll be space to roll around on the floor with ambient music all night, plus a live DJ set by Cole Lehman. Let’s get to know each other outside the weekly jam culture and celebrate this building together!
Here’s how we’ll raise money:
- Ticket sales (Tickets are required, but/and, give what you can! Especially if you’d given already, just come dance!)
- Silent auction (have something you’d like to offer? E.g. bodywork, therapy, etc. Reach out at [email protected])
- A Fun*Raiser matching grant from a generous community member is in the works! (Your employer might also offer gift matching through Benevity)
* Please note that while the entrance ramp is functional, they do not have handrails at the moment and so are not yet ADA compliant.
