FRIGG Launches Bagaduce Music Residency at Rockport Opera House
Saturday, January 31 | Workshop & Evening Concert
The internationally celebrated Finnish folk ensemble FRIGG launches their Bagaduce Music Residency at the Rockport Opera House on Saturday, January 31, presented by Bagaduce Music. The residency features special collaboration with Maine guitarist Noah Fishman, who joins the band throughout the tour.
Known for their electrifying fusion of Finnish pelimanni traditions, Nordic dance tunes, and bluegrass-inspired drive, FRIGG is one of the world’s leading ambassadors of contemporary Nordic folk. Their performances are virtuosic, joyful, and rhythmically charged.
The Rockport event opens a three-day Bagaduce Music Residency, followed by performances in Blue Hill and Freeport.
In addition to the evening concert, FRIGG will lead an all-levels instrumental workshop, welcoming musicians of all instruments and backgrounds. (Separate tickets required.)
The evening winds up with an informal SpelMaineslag afterparty that invites audiences and musicians into shared music-making and Scandinavian dance. Bring friends or come solo and take a spin on the dance floor… no experience needed!
This event is generously sponsored by Maine Fiddle Camp.
