The Rockport Public Library’s Let’s Feel Better in 2026 series continues on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. with a presentation by author and authenticity coach Suzanne Carver. In Story as Medicine, Carver invites participants to explore the stories they tell — about themselves, their past, and what they believe is possible — and how those stories quietly shape the way they live. Rather than focusing on writing technique, this interactive talk centers on awareness, reflection, and choice: noticing which narratives support us, which ones limit us, and where we have the power to consciously reshape the stories we’re living by.
Through guided reflection and simple, accessible exercises, participants will learn how to reframe self-talk, loosen the grip of inherited or outdated stories, and expand the way they see themselves and their lives. No writing experience is required — just curiosity and a willingness to look at your story with fresh eyes.
Suzanne Carver is the founder of The True YOU Blog and the author of the novel Flight Path, which Kirkus Reviews called “a domestic thriller with heart…riveting.” A graduate of Camden-Rockport High School, she now works as an authenticity coach, teacher, speaker, and guide for people on their journey of self-discovery. She is also a wife, mother, and trauma survivor.
