📅 Saturday, May 30 | 11 AM–12 PM📍 Whatcom Museum – The Lightcatcher
🎟 Free — registration required
Have you ever stood in front of a painting and wondered what the story behind it might be? This free workshop invites you to find out — through your own writing.
Join author Tara Campbell for an hour in the galleries with works from the current exhibition Personal to Political: Celebrating the African American Artists of Paulson Fontaine Press. Using guided observation and personalized writing exercises, Tara will help you draft a poem inspired by one of the works on view — and give you tools to bring this kind of looking and writing to any museum visit in the future.
This event is free thanks to generous support from Humanities Washington, but advance registration is required and seats are limited to 20. If you'd like to continue exploring the galleries afterward, stop by the front desk to pay admission or show your membership card.
