About this Event
Join multi-award-winning folk artist and master storyteller John Wort Hannam for a 2-hour songwriting workshop that explores the heart of the songwriting process. Known for his clear, emotionally resonant vocals and narrative-driven lyrics, John will unpack the tools, habits, and mindset he uses to craft songs that connect deeply with listeners. Through discussion, live examples, and guided writing exercises, participants will gain insight into the creative process from one of Albertas most respected folk songwriters. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned writer looking to deepen your craft, this workshop will leave you inspired and ready to tell your own story in song.
By signing up for a workshop you are also eligible to apply to perform with John Wort Hannam at the Rocky Mountain Listening Room on April 10. This is event 1 of 7 songwriting workshops hosted by the Rocky Mountain Listening Room for the 2025-2026 season. For more details visit rockyfolkclub.com. Note: Workshops location is different from the concert location however they all fall under the Rocky Mountain Listening Room.

While this event does not exclude children, please keep in mind that the environment will be a listening environment and any children would need to be able to remain seated for the two hours. Children will require tickets and must be accompanied by an adult.
