I have heard about this plane crash site but never had much detail as to where it is. After some research, I find out that it has been visited as recently as a year ago. So, we know that it is still there. This is going to be an exploratory adventure. I have pictures of the site and some possible location information. I'm pretty sure we can find it. I have always wanted to explore this area and now I have a good reason.
We will be exploring the east side of Mummy's Nose. The terrain will probably be loose and steep, but we will take it slowly, keeping an eye out for the crash site.
I am thinking that it will be 3-4 miles with 2000 feet of elevation gain. Since this is an exploratory scramble, it will probably be around 4-5 hours, so plan your water, food and snacks accordingly.
