Find Your Story. Get Seen. Grow Faster. Half-Day Workshop

In a world full of noise, it’s not always the biggest organisations that get noticed — it’s the ones that know how to tell their story clearly, confidently, and with purpose.

This practical, high-energy workshop helps you uncover the real story behind what you do — and turn it into powerful communication that connects with your audiences, whether that’s customers, communities, stakeholders, funders, or the wider public.

No jargon. No expensive agencies. Just clear, real-world storytelling that works.

A different way of finding stories

Shane Dean’s approach is deliberately different.

Nearly 20 years ago, he founded Purple Sheep — a storytelling and creative ideas organisation built on the belief that the most powerful stories don’t come from templates or formulas, but from seeing things differently.

Like a purple sheep in a field, it’s about standing out — not following other white sheep. Spotting what others miss, mixing unexpected ingredients, and turning everyday reality into stories that cut through the noise.

This is not traditional communications training.

It’s a creative method for helping organisations think differently, communicate differently, and ultimately get seen differently.

It helps teams build campaigns, shape narratives, and create ideas that stand out naturally — not forcefully.

Led by award-winning journalist Shane Dean

Shane Dean has spent 30 years finding and telling stories across business, education, communities, schools, charities, politics, and everyday life.

His journalism has appeared across national and global media, including Sky News, and he is known for spotting powerful stories in unexpected places — and turning them into compelling narratives that get attention.

He is also the founding editor of the national publication The Good News Post, which helped spark a wider movement through community-based “Good News Rooms”

Today, Shane works with organisations across the public, private, education, and charity sectors as a storytelling trainer and motivational speaker.
