Find Your Path: Running Industry Career Summit hosted by the RIDC and Charlotte Running Co.

Come celebrate Juneteenth and new opportunities with the community! The Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC) is partnering with Charlotte Running Co. to host this career summit and 5K. This is an opportunity to learn about the running industry, and the vast career opportunities it offers and potentially land a new job—all while enjoying a block party at your favorite local running store! 

For the Girls 5K: 

Join us in celebrating the legacy of Ms. Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, who at eighty-nine years old campaigned to make Juneteenth a national holiday by walking from Fort Worth, TX, to Washington, DC. The 5K begins at 8:30 AM directly outside the store, and all are invited to run in honor of the women of color who have shaped our lives. All ages and paces are welcome, so bring your family and friends! We encourage you to invite a woman of color to share in the joy and celebration. 

Breakfast: 

Refuel after the morning run with free breakfast, starting around 8:45 AM! Grab some food, check out the Charlotte Running Co. store (which will offer an exclusive discount during the event), and network with brand representatives from across the running industry. A portion of in-store sales will be donated to the RIDC to provide more opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and people of color in the running industry. Breakfast will be provided on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. 

Panel: 

From 10 AM to 10:30 AM, we will have a panel of representatives from brands and organizations within the running industry to discuss the ins and outs of starting a career in this industry. During this panel, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Learn about the perks of working in the running industry
• Discover brands and unique job opportunities that might be your perfect fit
• Hear from companies that are committed to supporting inclusion, visibility, and access for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color
• Engage in a Q&A with folks that have experience in this industry
