About this Event
Find Your Funny is a one-of-a-kind confidence and comedy workshop designed to help you turn your real-life experiences into powerful, personal, and funny stand-up material.
In collaboration with Cool Beans Comedy and Flawless Affect Foundation, this workshop creates a supportive, creative space for individuals from the different and disabled communities to explore their voice, build confidence, and take the stage.
Over a series of guided sessions, you’ll develop your own 5-minute stand-up set using storytelling prompts, comedy structure, and performance coaching.
Workshop Structure
- May 17th In-Person Workshop (2.5–3 hours)
Learn the foundations of storytelling, confidence on stage, and begin building your set - Week of May 17th or 24th Virtual Session
Test your material, refine your jokes, and receive supportive feedback - May 24th In-Person Rehearsal
Final run-through at the venue to prepare for your performance
The experience culminates in a live comedy showcase at the Ice House Comedy Club, where you’ll perform your set in front of a real audience as part of a special fundraising event.
This event is part of International Birthmark Awareness Month, with proceeds benefiting the Vascular Birthmark Foundation (VBF)—a global nonprofit providing resources, medical access, and community support for those with vascular birthmarks and related conditions.
