About this Event

Want to feel more confident speaking in front of others? Looking to add humour, warmth, and personality to your presentations — without feeling forced?
Join Comedy Lab founder Tom Short and communication coach Ric Ford (Life Is A Speech) for a practical, supportive workshop that blends stand-up comedy techniques with public speaking skills.

Whether you’re presenting at work, pitching a project, lecturing, performing, interviewing, or leading workshops — this session will help you develop a stronger, more engaging speaking style.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How comedians build confidence and presence on stage
  • How to structure stories so people listen
  • Ways to use humour naturally (and not awkwardly)
  • Techniques for managing nerves and speaking clearly
  • How to keep your audience interested and connected

This is a hands-on workshop, with friendly exercises and supportive feedback — no pressure, no “performance”, just learning by doing. Beginners welcome!

Who Is This For?

  • Professionals wanting to improve communication
  • Teachers, lecturers, facilitators & speakers
  • Performers transitioning into public speaking
  • Anyone who wants to feel more confident talking in front of others
