This walk is a free event, walking from Finchale Priory to Durham, and approaching the Cathedral via the riverbank and Prebends Bridge. There will be an opportunity to join in a special pilgrim service at Durham Cathedral at 4pm.
Transport provided to Finchale Priory from Durham County Hall, DH1 5UL, leaving promptly at 12.15pm, at a cost of £7 per person. Pre-booking a ticket for the bus is essential. Payment details for the cost of the transport will be sent to you via email once a reservation has been made.
Please note this Eventbrite site is for those who wish to travel by bus from County Hall, Durham and join the pilgrimage walk at Finchale Priory. If you wish to join Durham Cathedral’s pilgrimage walk from Chester le Street, please see the cathedral website.
How do I get a Pilgrim Passport?
Please contact Keith Taylor at '[email protected]' to arrange purchase. Accredited passports will cost £5 if arranged to collect on the day, or £7.50 if a passport package is sent to you by post.
Will there be transport back to the County Hall car park after the pilgrimage walk?
No, it will take about 20/30 minutes to walk back from the Cathedral to the car park. Please note the car park at County Hall will be open and accessible in the evening.
