About this Event
The UK has a large – and growing – infrastructure deficit. We can see the results all around us: pot-holed roads, tired and old-fashioned hospitals, and crumbling school buildings. On top of this, project delivery will need to ramp up dramatically if we are to meet our ambitions on net zero, economic growth and levelling up. This means not just making up for lost time but embarking on a major programme of infrastructure investment. However, with public finances as constrained as they are, the next government will not be able to fund this alone.
Financing the future?, the third report in FGF’s Rebuilding the Nation series, sets out what a new generation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) might look like.
To launch the report, we’ll be joined by report author Matt Bevington, Practice Director at Global Counsel, alongside an expert panel to discuss what can be learnt from the history of PPPs – their past successes and failures – and why they should be part of the policy mix for a future government looking to pump investment into the degraded public sphere and meet the UK’s future infrastructure needs.
Speakers to be announced.
